Intended use

Neuron Power Engineer is a software qualified to be used as an offline tool for the development of →libraries of →functions and →function blocks as well as applications for safety-critical areas up to SIL 3 according to "IEC 61508:2010" and ASIL C according to "ISO 26262:2018". 

Warning 1 Neuron Power Engineer does not contain measures to detect random failures when creating a safety-relevant application. Therefore, it is necessary to test the applications according to the applied standards.

Neuron does not give any guarantee and does not accept any liability, if the safety-relevant application is not tested and/or Neuron Power Engineer is not used as specified in the appropriate documentation. Therefore, use Neuron Power Engineer and its features only

• with a safety system,

• as described in the documentation "Safety instructions on working with the IDE" and the safety manual for the respective target platform and 

• in accordance with the specified requirements of the appropriate safety manual and documentation "Safety instructions on working with the IDE containing the safety instructions respectively.

All warranty and liability claims will be void, if one or more of the mentioned aspects are disregarded.

Warning 2 A safety application may only be considered safe, if Neuron Power Engineer has been integrated on a safety →PLC according to the specifications of Neuron Power Engineer and the safety application has been created according to the specifications of Neuron Power Engineer . Make sure that the manufacturer manual/documentation contains the necessary statement that the integration/creation has been executed according to specifications of Neuron Power Engineer. If such a statement is missing, it is not safe to use this component.
